A Twitter chat is like a meeting on Twitter; it has a specific discussion topic and a scheduled start time. Using the hashtag #MilCents at the end of each tweet, MFAN will ask questions to a group of financial experts.
Kimberly (Kim) Robertson is a (now retired) Air Force spouse and a member of both the 2015-2017 and 2017-2019 MFAN Advisory Board. She is also the founder of 1200 Miles Away, a blog she started when her husband received orders to go to Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
Currently, Kim is the marketing services manager for a global architecture and engineering company providing strategic, marketing insight in a practice focused on military installation planning and asset management. Her experience as a military spouse, surrounded by all of the acronyms and military culture, has served her well in this role.
Her military advocacy work includes serving as a founding member of the board of directors for the Society for Military Spouses in STEM, an organization that helps spouses overcome the challenges of maintaining a career with the military lifestyle. Additionally, she has been published in NextGen MilSpouse and the National Military Family Association. She also served as a Scout for MILLIE, a startup focused on easing the stress of PCS’ing on military families. And in 2017, Kim received the Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year award for Vandenberg AFB.
Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Professional Services Marketer. She is also the former president of the Colorado Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services.
