Outreach Coordinator

The Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) is hiring an experienced outreach coordinator for each of the following locations: Fort Bragg (North Carolina), Fort Hood (Texas), and Joint Base Lewis-McChord (Washington). This boots-on-the-ground role will be responsible for working with our community partners to coordinate food distributions benefitting military families facing food insecurity.

Each programmatic effort is intentionally created in response to what we learn from our advisory board and through our research. MFAN is committed to measurable impact, and a successful candidate will have experience building, managing, and evaluating programmatic outcomes, and communicating to internal and external audiences.

The outreach coordinator will be responsible for acting as the point of contact for event logistics and community inquiries.  They will recruit and manage community volunteers to staff food distributions, in coordination with our food distribution partner. This position requires strong consensus building, the ability to mobilize stakeholders around a cause, and expert facilitation skills. We are looking for someone with a “can-do” attitude who has a balance of creativity, problem-solving skills, polish, and project management experience.

Because this is a community-facing role, the outreach coordinator must have a knowledge of the military and veteran landscape (public and private sectors) and, most importantly, an authentic appreciation and commitment to understanding and responding to the needs of modern military families.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with assigned MFAN staff member to coordinate logistics for food distribution events in your region
  • Manage community inquiries in your region about how individuals and organizations can get involved to support this work
  • Recruit and manage volunteers as needed to staff the distribution events
  • Act as MFAN liaison with a food distribution partner in the assigned region
  • Represent MFAN in external meetings with a variety of stakeholders from both public and private sectors
  • Manage day-of logistics on-site at assigned food distribution events
  • Identify opportunities to partner with outside organizations that are highly intentional and elevate MFAN’s brand
  • Represent MFAN and yourself with care and authentic commitment to positive outcomes for military families

Requirements:

  • Experience supervising staff members and volunteers
  • Proven experience coordinating large scale events
  • Appreciation for military life and an understanding of the military and veteran organization landscape
  • Polish in all written and verbal communications
  • Facilitation experience and the ability to work with stakeholders to drive collaborative, meaningful impact
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to set and meet deadlines

This is a 1099 contract position expected for a period of 6 months averaging 50 hours per month with the possibility for extensions based on the needs of the organization.  Candidates are expected to have access to reliable transportation, a computer, internet, and a cell phone. Occasional weekend and after-hours work can be expected.

The Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) is seeking a full-time, remote, digital marketing manager to join our team. 

The Digital Marketing Manager handles the organization’s strategic online portfolio – including website content management, social media, and print and web design. As a managerial-level role, this position spearheads initiatives from ideation to creation to execution. From there, a great digital marketing manager monitors and analyzes metrics/insights in order to adjust campaigns accordingly and optimize brand reach. 

You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing long-term digital marketing campaigns as well as spearheading short-term advertising and marketing solutions. We’re looking for candidates with experience in copywriting, art direction, and social media who can raise our brand’s presence and engage stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar for MFAN’s social channels, including proficiency in using scheduling tools, mastery of organic and paid solutions, and remaining active in native social platforms.
  • Contribute to email marketing strategy 
  • Direct creation of graphics/artwork needed for social and web
  • Execution of national digital programs and campaigns, including online advertising, website strategy and design, social media, and mobile readiness.
  • Manage and moderate all social media channels and develop a plan to increase followership and engagement
  • Familiarity with SEO and SEM best practices 
  • Social monitoring and listening; stimulate dialogue and communication with all audiences 
  • Collaborate with other internal teams (i.e. research and programs) to monitor strategic communications initiatives 
  • Analyze and report on the performance and efficiency of digital campaigns 
  • Identify and access digital trends/new technologies and use web analytics tools to measure performance

 Requirements:  

  • Understanding and appreciation for military life and content that is important to military families  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field required 
  • 3 years progressive experience in digital communications   
  • Superior quality control and attention to detail 
  • Excellent grasp of social media and website metrics and best practices   
  • Strong knowledge of marketing and web analytics tools, including Constant Contact, Blackbaud products, Google Analytics, Sprout Social
  • Ability to write and present content that appeals to multiple audiences including military families, stakeholders, funders, media, and more
  • Demonstrated success in digital marketing and advertising 
  • Superior writing skills 
  • Experience with website and SEO performance measurement tools 
  • Ability to create and optimize graphics for social 
  • Demonstrated experience with WordPress and HTML preferred 

This is a remote, full-time position. Occasional after-hours/weekend work should be expected.
